{"id":124396,"date":"2015-06-13T06:00:12","date_gmt":"2015-06-13T06:00:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=124396"},"modified":"2015-06-12T20:58:44","modified_gmt":"2015-06-12T20:58:44","slug":"all-my-worries-might-just-be-a-storm-in-a-tea-cup-minority-leader","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=124396","title":{"rendered":"All my worries might just be a storm in a tea cup &#8211; Minority leader"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Minority leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu is confident of retaining his seat as Suame Legislator in the New Patriotic Party&#8217;s (NPP) June 13 Parliamentary primaries.<\/p>\n<p>The Suame Member of Parliament is fiercely being contested in the party&#8217;s primaries which will see the election of candidates to represent the NPP in the 2016 Parliamentary elections.<\/p>\n<p>He had earlier raised concerns about the failure of the party <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/04\/29\/my-position-must-be-protected-minority-leader-to-npp\/#sthash.1dA3iEvp.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>leadership to protect him<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>considering the fact that he is the leader of the Minority side in Parliament.<\/p>\n<p>He was of the view that\u00a0\u00a0the practice where the party allows its leader in Parliament to be challenged is undemocratic.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;Dz5RHYMgRpRa5craDurk535tBZMNmcPx&#8221;]Some MPs including some members from the Majority side of the House have also been <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/06\/12\/ndc-will-laugh-at-us-if-minority-leader-is-dropped-dominic-nitiwul\/#sthash.8dntR0CJ.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\">advocating for him to go unopposed.<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>However, Mensah Bonsu in an interview on <strong>Eyewitness News<\/strong> said he is certain that the outcome of Saturday&#8217;s primaries will indicate that all his worries ahead of the elections may have been &#8220;a storm in a tea cup.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is victory tomorrow, it will be victory tomorrow\u2026I don\u2019t need to sound the gong on this but the announcement will be made tomorrow and everybody will know that maybe it was all a storm in a tea cup.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>No need for campaign posters<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Suame MP who has occupied the seat for the past said there was no need to use campaign posters and billboards to convince the delegates to vote for him.<\/p>\n<p>He said it is his &#8216;&#8221;unknown&#8221; competitors who are mounting giant billboards because they are struggling to be recognized by the delegates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople know me and those who are not known are the ones advertising themselves.
