{"id":124387,"date":"2015-06-12T18:59:05","date_gmt":"2015-06-12T18:59:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=124387"},"modified":"2015-06-12T19:05:44","modified_gmt":"2015-06-12T19:05:44","slug":"npp-primaries-69-aspirants-to-contest-in-central-region","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=124387","title":{"rendered":"NPP primaries: 69 aspirants to contest in Central Region"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will conduct its parliamentary primaries in all the twenty three (23) constituencies in the Central Region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However Upper Denkyira West constituency has been excluded\u00a0because the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Benjamin Kofi Ayeh is performing official duties outside the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There are sixty nine (69) aspirants who have been vetted and cleared of which five (5) are going unopposed in the following constituencies; Ekumfi, Komena-Edina-Eguafo-Abirem(KEEA), Assin central, Effutu and Agona East.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The NPP won seven (7) out of the twenty three (23) seats in 2012 parliamentary elections in the central region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;6hUzq2Q3JIkcCC4WUuiyOLwMONSSHavK&#8221;]Prof. Dominic Fobi of Assin south after notching up four (4) successive terms opted out this time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kennedy Agyapong of Assin central, Alex Afenyo Markins of Effutu and Dr. Nana Ato Atta of KEEA who are sitting MPs are going unopposed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Three(3) sitting MPs are been fiercely contested in the following constituencies; Hon. Benjamin Ayeh of Upper Denkyira West, Hon. Nana Amoako of Upper Denkyira East and Hon.
