President John Dramani Mahama has cancelled scheduled foreign travels in order to deal with issues arising from the June 3rd flood and fire disasters and other pressing national issues.<\/p>\n

The President was chosen as Special Guest of Honour at the 2015 World of Work Summit of the International Labour Organization (ILO) during its annual conference in Geneva.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”7PkUd0TkXhjaT2y4pkhTd5WUjxbzqoP0″]President Mahama would also not be attending the 25th Session of the Assembly of Heads of State & Government of the African Union, which opens in Johannesburg on Sunday<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Over 150 persons<\/strong><\/span><\/a> died in a fire and flood disaster last Wednesday at a fuel station at Kwame Nkrumah Circle.<\/p>\n

The loss has devastated Ghanaians some of whom lost relatives and friends in the disaster, which has been described as one of the saddest in Ghana\u2019s history.\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Government earlier\u00a0declared three days of national mourning for the departed souls.<\/p>\n

A service to mark the end of the three day event was held on Wednesday at the forecourt of the\u00a0State House.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0memorial service was\u00a0inter-faith, inter-denominational, and involved all Ghanaians.<\/p>\n
