President John Mahama is blaming the poor quality of contractors for many uncompleted government projects across the country.<\/p>\n
According to him, while some contractors are able to work with the same amount of resources and are able to follow given timelines, others fail to do so.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”l7Gn39Xy2X7h4HDYmOhqB1rnCAoLbgf3″]Speaking at a meeting with the Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF), President Mahama instructed state agencies to ensure that only contractors with proven track records are recruited for projects.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have to look at the quality of the contractors to ensure that we don\u2019t have so many stalled and abandoned projects,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
On her part, the President of PRINCOF, Rev. Sister Elizabeth Amoako Arhen pleaded with the president to facilitate the release of feeding grants for the 38 colleges of education.<\/p>\n
\u201cMr. President, we have to mention that the delay in releasing the feeding grants for our students is becoming a problem, in fact, a nightmare for us and we are pleading to Your Excellency for your intervention,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
She added that even though they were second semester of the academic year, they had not received the grants for the first semester.<\/p>\n
\u201cPrincipals continue to be at the mercy of suppliers who cannot be appealed to beyond certain limits anymore,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n
