The Office of Nana Akufo Addo has indicated that Nana Akufo Addo has no plans of voting at the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) delegates’ conference in Tamale on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Though Section C (2) of the NPP\u2019s constitution disqualifies Nana Akufo Addo from voting at the conference, the camp of National Chairman aspirant Paul Afoko said they had cited a delegates’ list with Nana Addo and his running mate, Dr. Bawurmia\u2019s names included.<\/p>\n
Mr. Afoko\u2019s camp subsequently wrote a letter to the elections committee of the party registering their protest.<\/p>\n
But speaking to Citi News,<\/b> aide to Nana Addo Mustapha Hamid said his boss had no plans of voting on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Making a reference, he stated that “In 2010 in Kumasi, Akuffo Addo didn\u2019t vote and wasn\u2019t interested in voting and hasn\u2019t told anyone he is interested in voting at the Tamale conference.”<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the NPP has rejected a call from Mr. Afoko for a meeting with all candidates to deal with the issue before Saturday\u2019s conference.<\/p>\n
Director of Elections Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah says the Elections Committee will not meet any candidate ahead of the conference.<\/p>\n
\u201cA request is being made of election committee to meet on Friday before the election. Please know that we have a mandate for organisaing election and we are doing that on time. Elections committee I can tell you on Authority cannot and will not meet candidates,\u201d he insisted<\/p>\n
