The Member of Parliament for the Komenda-Edina-Eduafo-Abirem constituency in the Central Region, Nana Ato Arthur is accusing some members of the various Landing Beach Committees of deliberately increasing the prices of premix fuel.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”lIWd5pSEuztaBZzeCpilMMYhkVaAUjCq”]According to him, they do that by creating a artificial shortages of the product and subsequently sale at exorbitant prices to the fisherfolks.<\/p>\n
The situation he claims, has led to an increase in the price of the fuel.<\/p>\n
He added that, a gallon of premix fuel was now selling at almost GHc14 which was not supposed to be the case.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Citi News<\/strong>, Nana Ato Arthur called on government to monitor the operations of the committees to ensure fairness in the pricing of the product.<\/p>\n \u201cGovernments official price per gallon is Ghc7.10. Officially in Elmina, it is GHc7.30 but people within the committee creates artificial shortages and for that matter it goes between GHc12 and GHc14 per gallon.
