{"id":11915,"date":"2014-04-09T10:51:16","date_gmt":"2014-04-09T10:51:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=11915"},"modified":"2014-04-09T14:27:52","modified_gmt":"2014-04-09T14:27:52","slug":"47-fulanis-illegally-migrating-to-ghana-intercepted","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=11915","title":{"rendered":"47 Fulanis illegally migrating to Ghana intercepted"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>47 people believed to be Fulanis, migrating to Ghana from Nigeria have been intercepted by the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) at the Segbe-border, near Dzodze in the Ketu-North District.<\/p>\n<p>The migrants, made up of 10 men, 12 women and 25 children, with their personal belongings, were travelling on board a Ghanaian registered cargo truck, ER 956 Z, from Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>The group claimed they were on their way to Mafi-Adidome in the Central-Tongu District of the Volta Region.<\/p>\n<p>A GIS source said the group arrived at the Segbe frontier at about 1630 hours on Sunday with no travelling documents.<\/p>\n<p>He said they were however holding an unsigned letter from a Nigerian road transport union introducing them as Fulanis, who wanted to settle in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>The letter, the source said, pleaded that they were allowed safe entry into the country.<\/p>\n<p>He said after some brief detention at the border, the group was moved to a destination where interrogation would continue.<\/p>\n<p>The source said the driver of the truck, whose name was not given, was assisting in investigations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Source: GNA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>47 people believed to be Fulanis, migrating to Ghana from Nigeria have been intercepted by the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) at the Segbe-border, near Dzodze in the Ketu-North District.
