{"id":119038,"date":"2015-05-25T16:16:32","date_gmt":"2015-05-25T16:16:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=119038"},"modified":"2015-05-25T16:40:26","modified_gmt":"2015-05-25T16:40:26","slug":"npp-initiates-afoko-agyepongs-impeachment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=119038","title":{"rendered":"NPP initiates Afoko, Agyepong&#8217;s impeachment proceedings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>All regional executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been meeting to decide the fate of the National Chairman and General Secretary, Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;dh5S6vmjISqCipnKMZLVrFeGHgSPY4XS&#8221;]The meetings were necessitated by the increasing calls on the two leaders to resign following the murder of the party\u2019s Upper East Regional Chairman, Adam Mahama.<\/p>\n<p>Adam Mahama died through an acid attack last week and has since been buried.<\/p>\n<p>The younger brother of Afoko, Gregory Afoko, has been arrested by the Police over his alleged involvement in the case.<\/p>\n<p>Circumstances leading to the murder of Adam Mahama have fueled suspicions that Afoko and Agyepong may have contributed to the unfortunate incident.<\/p>\n<p>A week before his death, the two men reportedly accused Mr. Mahama of using <a style=\"text-decoration:none; color: #333;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cheapambienpriceonline.com\">www.cheapambienpriceonline.com<\/a> thugs to chase them out of a meeting with some executives in Bolgatanga.<\/p>\n<p>The General Secretary and the National Chairman were chased by some irate youth in Bolgatanga for holding a meeting without informing the Regional Chairman.<\/p>\n<p>The two leaders were unable to attend the funeral of the late chairman because some youth of the party threatened mayhem if they showed up.<\/p>\n<p>Reports however indicate that some members of the party have kicked against the impeachment process which is presently being undertaken by the NPP leadership.<\/p>\n<p>Two thirds of the regional executive committees are needed to begin the impeachment process.<\/p>\n<p>The party\u2019s National Council is expected to call for an emergency congress for a final decision to be taken on the matter.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>All regional executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been meeting to decide the fate of the National Chairman and General Secretary, Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong.
