{"id":118091,"date":"2015-05-21T14:05:18","date_gmt":"2015-05-21T14:05:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=118091"},"modified":"2015-05-21T16:29:54","modified_gmt":"2015-05-21T16:29:54","slug":"adams-mahamas-death-homicide-personnel-dispatched-to-bolga","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=118091","title":{"rendered":"Adam Mahama&#8217;s death: Homicide personnel dispatched to Bolga"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A team of investigators from the Homicide unit of the Ghana Police Service have been dispatched to the Upper East Region to investigate\u00a0the circumstances that led to the death of the Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe homicide unit is coming from Accra, we will soon go and pick them from the Airport,\u201d Public Relations Officer of the Upper East Regional Police Command, ASP Thomas Agbanyo has told <strong>Citi News<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;Xbz0iKr8QMhceuXmXFTHkyXdXo6bYdk5&#8243;]The NPP&#8217;s Regional chairman,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/05\/21\/npp-upper-east-chairman-attacked-with-acid\/#sthash.qGe7xBu8.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\">Adam Mahama was\u00a0attacked on Wednesday<\/a><\/strong><\/span> by some two persons with an acid.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/05\/21\/confirmed-npp-ue-chairman-dead-after-acid-attack\/#sthash.qanNhGwz.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>He died on Thursday morning<\/strong><\/a><\/span> at the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital where he was receiving treatment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the Police, the Homicide personnel will help facilitate investigations into the matter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Mortal remains embalmed\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">ASP Agbanyo said the mortal remains of Adams Mahama is at the intensive care unit \u201cwell-embalmed waiting for the postmortem to be conducted then we see the way forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile, the Police have confirmed\u00a0that <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/05\/21\/one-arrested-for-acid-attack-on-upper-east-npp-chairman\/#sthash.LEflxK2h.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\">one of the suspects arrested<\/a><\/strong><\/span> in connection with the matter is being flown to Accra for further investigations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Reprisal attacks<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">ASP Thomas Agbanyo said that\u00a0they have launched a manhunt for the second accomplice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Though he indicated that the area is currently calm he said for the fear of reprisal attacks,\u00a0\u201cwe are beefing up our security so that what happened\u00a0 at the mortuary or hospital will not happen again properly in the house of any of the executives. Not only NPP but other parties as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIt\u2019s too early for me to tell what is the preliminary investigation as at now. \u00a0He the deceased mentioned that they were two people who attacked him there before he could not speak much.
