Tigo on Sunday shared in the intimate moments between mothers and their newborn at the Ridge Hospital in Accra.<\/p>\n
As part of this year\u2019s celebrations for Mothers\u2019 day, the telecom company presented \u2018His and Her\u2019s Hampers\u2019 to the new mothers that delivered this dawn at the hospital.<\/p>\n
Tigo also documented the precious moments between mother and baby by taking photos of their first few ours together \u2013 usually the photos are taken days after both the mother and baby are discharged from the hospital.<\/p>\n
From the moment they are born with their vernix coated skin, blinking eyes, and pay-attention-to-me cries, babies do mesmerize us and for the CSR team at Tigo sharing in the first few hours of mother and baby bonding was priceless.<\/p>\n
Recounting their experiences, some first time mothers described the feeling of life taking form inside them, the physical and emotional changes, and the anticipation of bringing forth a new life to giving birth as wonderful.<\/p>\n
Several of the women had already been given their babies the traditional Sunday names based on their ethnic tribe and gender – Akosua for females and Akwasi for males in the Akan tribe, their real names will be revealed at various traditional ceremonies in a few weeks.<\/p>\n
The mid wife in-charge of the Maternity Unit, Philis Ashun, was grateful for the gifts for the babies, their mothers and the health workers.<\/p>\n
