{"id":115197,"date":"2015-05-11T11:17:32","date_gmt":"2015-05-11T11:17:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=115197"},"modified":"2015-05-11T11:36:31","modified_gmt":"2015-05-11T11:36:31","slug":"im-sorry-for-my-dumsor-comments-ras-mubarak","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=115197","title":{"rendered":"I&#8217;m sorry for my &#8216;dumsor&#8217; comments &#8211; Ras Mubarak\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The acting Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Ras Muabrak, has retracted and apologized for comments\u00a0he made\u00a0on Facebook against critics of the government.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;cBkxxXTgCVX0yNJLAX8TQFVajt6UmkZO&#8221;]In his post, Mr. Mubarak \u00a0dared Ghanaians to<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/05\/10\/feel-free-to-vote-against-us-ras-mubarak\/#sthash.lugFDdms.XEnE0haj.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\"><strong> vote out the NDC government<\/strong> <\/a><\/span>over the energy crisis if they wanted to.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that\u00a0\u201cif governments after Nkrumah had thought about the long term, as JM [John Mahama] is doing, we won\u2019t be complaining about dumsor today.\u00a0So please feel free to vote against us for thinking and doing things for a Better Ghana, but u will not only thank us tomorrow, you will live in regret, like we are today, for all the bad things we said and did to Nkrumah.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He asked, \u201cwhat use is fixing dumsor temporarily only for it to reoccur in 6 or 7 years?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, in an interview on the <strong>Citi Breakfast Show<\/strong>, Ras Mubarak described his actions as inappropriate and expressed regret for his remarks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy comments in respect of the fact that if after attempting or actually seeing things that will actually help Ghanaians in the long-run is something if not appreciated, we should be voted against. For that I think it was quite inappropriate and I sincerely apologise for that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He stressed however that government had rolled out a number of measures to end the power crisis as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of hard work is being put in place to ensure that we save Ghanaian lives. What I said was that the president was doing a lot of good things and we should look at those good things as the basis for judging the president. So that if you are going to say that he feels nothing about dumsor then that is quite unfair.
