Per the Public Order Act, 1994, any group seeking to organise a public event must notify the police of their intentions.<\/p>\n
The police have on some occasions, secured a court order to prevent certain events from taking place.<\/p>\n
A letter, they wrote to the Police seeking clearance and protection for the event, stated that the vigil will be in the \u201cform of a peaceful procession with lit candles, touches, lanterns and bobo.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ghana has been battling with inconsistent power supply in the country following three years of erratic power generation.<\/p>\n
