{"id":113652,"date":"2015-05-04T11:17:11","date_gmt":"2015-05-04T11:17:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=113652"},"modified":"2015-05-04T11:17:11","modified_gmt":"2015-05-04T11:17:11","slug":"wiyaala-releases-this-is-who-i-am","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=113652","title":{"rendered":"Wiyaala releases &#8220;This is who I am&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cThis Is Who I Am\u201d dropped this weekend following Wiyaala\u2019s visit to Casablanca last\u00a0month to record with Afrobian musician, Ahmed Soultan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis Is Who I Am\u201d is the first single from Ahmed\u2019s upcoming album MHNB (Music\u00a0Has No Boundaries), which will be released at the end of May and features\u00a0collaborations with world famous musicians Femi Kuti, George Clinton, Fred Wesley,\u00a0Akala and Tekitha.<\/p>\n<p>Ahmed Soultan who won Best Artist North Africa at the All Africa Music Awards is a\u00a0multiple award winner with credits that include wins at the 2013 MTV Europe Music\u00a0Awards for MTV Best Artiste North Africa &amp; Middle East, MTV Best Africa\/Middle\u00a0East\/India and MTV Best Worldwide Act for which he received a nomination.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis Is Who I Am\u201d, described by the Moroccan star as \u201cAfroBian\u201d in style, is a\u00a0fusion of both Afro and Arabian rhythms and features four languages, English,\u00a0French, Arabic and Wiyaala\u2019s own Sissala dialect.<\/p>\n<p>Asked why he had chosen Wiyaala for the collaboration, Ahmed said: \u201cWe met at\u00a0AFRIMA 2014 and I heard Wiyaala\u2019s voice; she gave me her album \u201cWiyaala\u201d, and I\u00a0discovered a universe\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He added:\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m saying, let&#8217;s visit Ghana. Ghanaians, you come and visit us and every country\u00a0of Africa. We need to know each other better. We hope you will enjoy Afrobian music\u00a0and be curious to find out more.\u00a0And who knows maybe we gonna win awards with this song:)\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wiyaala, who has\u00a0herself garnered a whole heap of awards in the past six months including Vodafone\u00a0Ghana Music Awards Best Female Vocal said: \u201cWorking with Ahmed has been a\u00a0great experience and is helping me to grow as a musician. I remain determined to\u00a0show that Africans can compete with the best in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis Is Who I Am\u201d was recorded at the Studio Hiba in Casablanca and is currently\u00a0available as an audio through Youtube.
