The Managing Director of the\u00a0Bulk Oil Storage & Transportation Co. Ltd. (BOST),\u00a0Kwame Awuah-Darko has disclosed\u00a0that the company’s staff who was dismissed has been re-instated.<\/p>\n
Mr Albert Mantey, the chairman of the Professional and Managerial Staff Union (PMSU) of BOST was\u00a0dismissed after speaking to the media<\/a><\/strong><\/span> [Citi Fm] on the company\u2019s ongoing restructuring exercise and staffing policy without permission from the Managing Director.<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”8ze9CEmOSMUGMLEDc8Lhe5gaZRZxtGNo”]His dismissal letter, which was signed by the MD, explained that Mr. Mantey\u2019s media interview had tarnished the image and reputation of BOST, which is in breach of the company\u2019s Clause 9.1.2 of the Conditions of Service hence the decision.<\/p>\n The move has received some industry condemnation, while a labour analyst Kofi Davor described the move as “wrong.”<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n But addressing the press in Accra on Thursday, the MD of BOST, Kwame Awuah-Darko said they received a letter from the Trades Union Congress (TUC) to have Mr Mantey reinstated.<\/p>\n He noted that the said letter from the TUC \u00a0did not in any way influence their decision to reinstate Mr Mantey.<\/p>\n Mr Awuah-Darko further said Mr Mantey has subsequently apologized for his conduct.<\/p>\n The termination of BOSS staff Albert Mantey’s appointment has been withdrawn – BOST CEO<\/p>\n \u2014 97.3 Citi FM (@Citi973) April 30, 2015<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n
