{"id":112780,"date":"2015-04-30T14:41:09","date_gmt":"2015-04-30T14:41:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=112780"},"modified":"2015-04-30T14:41:09","modified_gmt":"2015-04-30T14:41:09","slug":"kojo-oppong-nkrumahs-reasons-for-choosing-npp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=112780","title":{"rendered":"Kojo Oppong Nkrumah\u2019s reasons for choosing NPP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former broadcaster, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has exclusively disclosed to\u00a0<strong>Citi News<\/strong> why he chose to run on the ticket of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a Parliamentary candidate ahead of the 2016 elections.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;AN0avubYWauxfSEqMs7BOLfRG9IrGNqi&#8221;]Mr. Oppong Nkrumah who is running for the Ofoase Ayirebi seat said his belief in the NPP liberal democratic ideology pushed him to the party.<\/p>\n<p>He said the current situation demands a party with forward-looking ideals and principles to take Ghana out of its challenges.<\/p>\n<p><strong>His reasons<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Oppong Nkrumah stated that at heart, he shares the party\u2019s philosophy for solving problems.<\/p>\n<p>He said he totally disagrees with persons who argue that philosophy does not matter but just pragmatism.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe philosophy informs the approach and so if I look across the political options, the NPP\u2019s philosophy and its approach to solving problems that bedevil us is one that appeals to me and so at heart, I agree with that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Kojos-poster.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-105122\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Kojos-poster.jpg\" alt=\"Kojo's poster\" width=\"621\" height=\"439\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Kojos-poster.jpg 960w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Kojos-poster-300x212.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 621px) 100vw, 621px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>His second reason was that taking a critical look at the track record of parties in government and in opposition, \u201cI think I\u2019m more comfortable with the NPP\u2019s disposition towards politics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He remarked that the \u201cNPP does its politics in particular way, deals with the substance of issues, deals with working to improve the quality of lives of the people and I am very comfortable in this place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kojo Oppong Nkrumah added that he has resolved the impasse that ensued between him and Ofoase Ayirebi Constituency Chairman.<\/p>\n<p>He admitted that he was not \u201ctoo excited at the time but I took it in my strides.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn politics, you expect to be jabbed here and there.
