36-year-old farmer was shot dead<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>in his room last Friday by a military officer, Private Daniel Appiah for allegedly defying curfew hours.<\/p>\nThere are fears in the Bunkprugu township that the Ghana Armed Forces may protect its own in this case.<\/p>\n
But the Deputy Minister of Interior, James Agalga insists due process will be followed.<\/p>\n
He assured the residents that \u201cthe procedures and processes are very transparent and if after the preliminary interrogation, the Military High Command thinks that there is a case against the officer who pulled the trigger, they may hand him over to the Police for criminal investigations to commence.\u201d<\/p>\n
He further pledged that \u201cjustice is going to be done and the ministry of defense and interior will not superintend in any cover ups.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bunkprugu, Solomon Buah is presently leading a crusade to get justice for the family of the victim.<\/p>\n
He has called on all Ghanaians to join the crusade to ensure the military officer is\u00a0brought to justice.<\/p>\n
The incident which happened last Friday has left the Bunkprugu residents in shock.<\/p>\n
The town has been under curfew following the clashes between two Bimoba clans the Jafog and the Jamong.<\/p>\n
Deputy Minister Agalga urged the people to strictly adhere to the curfew hours as the ministry ensures justice is attained in this matter.<\/p>\n
