With this achievement, we have caught up with Accra\u2019s water demand and indeed, we have overtaken Accra\u2019s average water demand.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking at a special ceremony to inaugurate the Teshie Desalination Water project, President Mahama said though the target has been met more works is projected.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Teshie and Nungua are among areas in Accra that complain about irregular water supply, hence the desalination project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">President Mahama stated that the Ghana Water Company is \u201ccurrently supplying 2.7 million gallons more than the\u00a0demand inAccra&#8221; but said &#8220;our population is growing and we must stay one step ahead and so we are already planning a phase two of the Kpong Water supply project.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He added that \u201c&#8230;this will add in the future another 40 million gallons of water in Accra.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/plant.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-114284\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/plant.jpg\" alt=\"plant\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/plant.jpg 600w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/plant-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>1 billion invested in water sector <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">President Mahama further revealed that government has in the last five years, <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/04\/18\/over-1-billion-spent-on-water-projects-mahama\/#sthash.6rO0Imlc.FtvYSKgQ.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>invested over $1 billion in the water sector<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said \u201cover the past five years we have spent more than $1 billion dollars on water supply projects across the country alone.
