Not for the Pope. Pope Francis\u2019 former iPad was put up for auction in Uruguay and sold for $30,500, according to Reuters.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe winning bid was placed by telephone, but declined to disclose the buyer\u2019s identity or nationality,\u201d they reported. The funds from the sale will benefit a school for the poor in Uruguay.<\/p>\n
And this is no ordinary iPad. It is engraved with \u201cHis Holiness Francisco. Servizio Internet Vatican, March 2013.\u201d<\/p>\n
Reuters reports that Pope Francis is no stranger for putting up his goods for charity \u2014 \u201cLast year, a Harley-Davidson motorbike he had received as a gift fetched 241,500 euros ($257,681).\u201d<\/p>\n
And while he loves tech, calling the Internet \u201ca gift from God,\u201d he does admit that he is not especially tech savvy. So, it must be some papal elves working those devices for him?<\/p>\n
It\u2019s good to be the Pope.<\/p>\n
