{"id":109001,"date":"2015-04-16T14:25:10","date_gmt":"2015-04-16T14:25:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=109001"},"modified":"2015-04-16T19:23:12","modified_gmt":"2015-04-16T19:23:12","slug":"police-one-sided-investigation-necessary-lawyer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=109001","title":{"rendered":"Police \u2018one sided\u2019 investigation necessary \u2013 Lawyer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Legal Practitioner, Adusei Poku has described as &#8220;necessary,&#8221; the decision by the Police to give a one sided story on the YFM Presenter&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/04\/14\/yfm-presenter-abducted-sexually-assaulted\/#sthash.cVcHTEtF.r9z4q9aY.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>alleged assault and abduction<\/strong><\/span><\/a> from the suspects\u2019 perspective.<\/p>\n<p>The Police on Thursday held a press conference to update Ghanaians on the incident but some Ghanaians have expressed\u00a0disappointed after they realised that most of the\u00a0information was gathered from only the suspects.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/reaction.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-109012\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/reaction.png\" alt=\"reaction\" width=\"525\" height=\"306\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/reaction.png 525w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/reaction-300x175.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;uYyGtClJXI8mtoXyDg57v7iA2oBgOfjR&#8221;]The Police explained that they were unable to take the victim\u2019s side of the story because she needs to be mentally examined before she can be interrogated.<\/p>\n<p>There are concerns however that the decision by the Police to address the media without the side of \u00a0Ms Ada, could sway public anger against her and she will lose in the &#8220;court of public opinion.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>However speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, the lawyer Adusei Poku explained that it was necessary for the Police to update Ghanaians even if it was from only the suspects&#8217; perspective to \u201cassuage fears that there might be gangs in the systems.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey were just giving an update because it was a matter of national interest.
