{"id":107938,"date":"2015-04-13T13:59:18","date_gmt":"2015-04-13T13:59:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=107938"},"modified":"2015-04-13T17:19:53","modified_gmt":"2015-04-13T17:19:53","slug":"police-given-2-weeks-to-amend-defense-on-tehoda-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=107938","title":{"rendered":"Tehoda case: Police given 2 weeks to amend defense"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The\u00a0Human Rights Court has given the Ghana Police Service 2 weeks to amend its <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/12\/11\/police-opens-defense-against-dsp-tehoda\/#sthash.BaGkrvIt.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>statement of defense<\/strong><\/a><\/span> in a case brought against it by DSP Gifty Mawuenyega Tehoda.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;sUzOcILPT6bfq7ltaswIYuWToHRmdx5b&#8221;]The court \u00a0adjourned the case to April 28, 2014 after lawyer for the Service asked the court for some time to amend its statement of defense.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The case involving DSP Tehoda began on September 27, 2011 when one Nana Ama Martin\u2019s was arrested for possessing large parcels suspected to be cocaine which later &#8220;turned&#8221; into baking soda in Police custody.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">DSP Tehoda was linked to the deal for which reason she <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/12\/29\/police-service-conspiring-wife-bill-tehoda\/#sthash.I6eWBLub.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>was interdicted and subsequently dismissed<\/strong><\/a> <\/span>from the Ghana Police Service as Deputy Commander in-charge of the Commercial Crimes Unit of the Ghana Police Service.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tehoda\u00a0who said she was wrongfully dismissed is seeking an order from the court <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/03\/10\/reinstate-and-compensate-tehoda-lawyer\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>for her reinstatement<\/strong><\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/01\/09\/tehodas-case-adjourned-april-13\/#sthash.jVqYGDxp.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>a previous\u00a0hearing<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, a principal witness from the Police service during cross-examination admitted to the court that Mrs Tehoda was not given a fair hearing before she was dismissed from the police service.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By: Franklin Badu Jnr\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0Human Rights Court has given the Ghana Police Service 2 weeks to amend its statement of defense in a case brought against it by DSP Gifty Mawuenyega Tehoda.
