This was to help him ascertain the extent of the security challenges the Police and the residents were experiencing.<\/p>\n
He is reported to have also patrolled some major roads in the Region throughout the night.<\/p>\n
The residents of Wa have accused the Police in the area of conniving with criminals<\/strong><\/span><\/a> who terrorize them during the night.<\/p>\n This practice, according to them had heightened their fears since the rate of crime in the area has increased alarmingly.<\/p>\n The residents also claimed that informants who have dared to give credible information mysteriously get killed.<\/p>\n But the Wa Police Command has denied all these allegations and has rather blamed their ineffectiveness<\/strong><\/span><\/a> on the existing traditional systems in the region.<\/p>\n The Regional Command admitted that indeed, the residents always report cases of robbery to them but when the Police make arrests and initiate investigations, families of both complainant and accused would often invade the police station in the name of \u201cTe gyaa bonyeni\u201d and tells the police that they were no longer interested in pursuing the case in court.<\/p>\n \u201cThey would always come and tell the police that they want the case to be withdrawn and settled at home because both parties were related,\u201d said the Upper West Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Kwasi Mensah Duku.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n By: Efua Idan Osam\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana![\"11150342_821958034564952_4766229555627593033_n\"](\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/11150342_821958034564952_4766229555627593033_n.jpg\")
