{"id":107345,"date":"2015-04-11T11:33:41","date_gmt":"2015-04-11T11:33:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=107345"},"modified":"2015-04-11T11:48:51","modified_gmt":"2015-04-11T11:48:51","slug":"govt-owes-two-years-newspaper-subscription-fees-chronicle-boss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=107345","title":{"rendered":"Gov&#8217;t owes two years newspaper subscription fees \u2013 Chronicle boss"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The General Manager of the Chronicle Newspaper, Ebo Quansah, has disclosed that Parliament and other state institutions have failed to pay their newspaper subscription and advertisement fees for two years.<\/p>\n<p>This, he said has made it difficult for him to pay his workers saying, &#8220;state institutions owe us so much that I haven\u2019t been able to pay my workers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Parliament and all Ministries owe us so much that I have not been able to pay my workers for a while,\u201d he complained.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on <strong>Citi FM\u2019s<\/strong> news analysis programme, <strong><em>The Big Issue<\/em><\/strong>, Mr Quansah said all efforts to get his money paid have yielded no results because the institutions claim there is no money.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/parliament-4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-101958\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/parliament-4.jpg\" alt=\"parliament (4)\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/parliament-4.jpg 600w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/parliament-4-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>He revealed that this is the first time state institutions have been unable to pay their debt to his newspaper company; a situation he described as worrying.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been two years and it has never happened before so I am not happy at all. I have pursued them; I have gone to Parliament and even threatened to be a stranger in the House.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Chronicle Newspaper boss has therefore threatened to sit among Members of Parliament (MPs) during Parliamentary proceedings to protest the undue delay in settling their two-year debt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have threatened that one day; they will see me on the floor of Parliament because it\u2019s really creating problems for me. They tell me there is no money.
