{"id":107327,"date":"2015-04-11T10:48:52","date_gmt":"2015-04-11T10:48:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=107327"},"modified":"2015-04-11T18:04:54","modified_gmt":"2015-04-11T18:04:54","slug":"second-dansoman-gas-explosion-victim-dies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=107327","title":{"rendered":"Second gas explosion victim dies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The second victim who got injured in a gas explosion at Dansoman has died.<\/p>\n<p>He passed away on Friday at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;qzOG8Bl4pXeyN3yk2qul7mc6sArvSKRc&#8221;]The first victim of the explosion died earlier this week after doctors at the Korle Bu Plastic Surgery and Burns Centre worked tirelessly to keep him alive.<\/p>\n<p>The head of the Korle Bu Plastic Surgery and Burns Centre, Dr Opoku Ware Ampomaa who confirmed the incident to <strong>Citi News<\/strong> said the victim died a few minutes after 7pm on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>On Easter Monday, a gas tank in a gas station at Dansoman, near the Methodist University College exploded.<\/p>\n<p>The explosion critically<a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/04\/06\/gas-explosion-injures-two-at-dansoman\/#sthash.FJ10sQFj.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong> injured two persons.<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The National Petroleum Authority <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/04\/09\/npa-closes-down-gas-filling-station-at-dansoman\/#sthash.Wxmn2KEo.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>(NPA) subsequently closed down<\/strong><\/span><\/a> the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) refilling plant.<\/p>\n<p>The decision\u00a0was taken in collaboration with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA).<\/p>\n<p>The closure according to the NPA is to allow them evacuate the residual gas in the storage tank.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Franklin Badu Jnr\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The second victim who got injured in a gas explosion at Dansoman has died.
