{"id":107236,"date":"2015-04-11T06:35:39","date_gmt":"2015-04-11T06:35:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=107236"},"modified":"2015-04-11T06:39:53","modified_gmt":"2015-04-11T06:39:53","slug":"car-washer-jailed-84-months","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=107236","title":{"rendered":"Car washer jailed 84 months"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"itemIntroText\">\n<p>A 30-year-old car washer at Nuaso, a suburb of Odumase-Krobo, Kudjo Angmorteh has been sentenced to 84 months imprisonment in hard labour for unlawful entry, attempting to commit a crime (stealing) and causing unlawful harm.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"itemFullText\">\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;xE3eFttRNG40miZC8YjTlZ1aY9SBMLuq&#8221;]Angmorteh, who pleaded guilty to all the charges, was sentenced to 60, 36 and 84 months in respect of count one, two and three, to run concurrently.<\/p>\n<p>The Odumase Krobo Circuit judge, Asmah Akwasi Asiedu, who presided over the case, described Angmorteh\u2019s action as very barbaric when he pleaded with the court for leniency.<\/p>\n<p>The Prosecutor, Chief Inspector John Akuetteh, told the court that on December 13, 2014, at about 2 a.m., the complainant, Samuel Nartey, a civil engineer, was asleep in his room when \u00a0Angmorteh barged in wielding a machete in an attempt to steal from the room.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor said Angmorteh attacked Nartey and inflicted machete wounds on the left side of his head and his left knee, which made him bleed profusely.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Akuetteh said Nartey raised an alarm while holding Angmorteh and some witnesses in the case came to rescue him.<\/p>\n<p>Nartey was rushed to the Agomanya St Martin De- Porres Hospital for treatment and Angmorteh was arrested and sent to Nuaso Police station, where he was rearrested.<\/p>\n<p>During police interrogation, Angmorteh admitted having inflicted machete wounds on Nartey in an attempt to escape arrest.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.graphic.com.gh\/news\/general-news\/41432-car-washer-gets-84-months.html\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Graphic Online<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A 30-year-old car washer at Nuaso, a suburb of Odumase-Krobo, Kudjo Angmorteh has been sentenced to 84 months imprisonment in hard labour for unlawful entry, attempting to commit a crime (stealing) and causing unlawful harm.
