wo emergency power barges<\/strong><\/span><\/a> by the first quarter of 2015 to help resolve the worsening energy crisis.<\/p>\nMr Buah in an earlier interview said \u201cthe government is working around the clock to ensure the power needs of individuals are met. We are focused on increasing power generation in the country and we are not wavering on that\u201d.<\/p>\n
He said the power barges, which are self-propelled, will be strategically located in Tema and Takoradi for immediate deployment, to provide\u00a0 electricity to the country.<\/p>\n
But speaking on Eyewitness News, the Efutu legislator said government’s promises had not yet been fulfilled.<\/p>\n
“I am holding the Power Minister to the promises he made in December. They have not been met..,” Afenyo Markin told Eyewitness News host, Richard Dela Sky.<\/p>\n
“Government promised that we would get barges at the beginning of April but from checks the barges are still in Lebanon.There are only 2 weeks left in April and the barges are working elsewhere. The Government should come clean.”<\/p>\n
Afenyo Markin said he will resort to using the “Parliamentary process to get the Minister to adhere to the legislature” in relation to his promise.<\/p>\n
“We can also get the Supreme Court to give an interpretation to the issue.”<\/p>\n
