{"id":106679,"date":"2015-04-09T07:33:00","date_gmt":"2015-04-09T07:33:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=106679"},"modified":"2015-04-09T07:33:00","modified_gmt":"2015-04-09T07:33:00","slug":"kanye-west-settles-lawsuit-over-cameraman-row","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=106679","title":{"rendered":"Kanye West settles lawsuit over cameraman row"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kanye West has reached an out-of-court settlement with a cameraman he is alleged to have punched.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Videographer Daniel Ramos claimed the Grammy-winning rapper wrestled him to the ground while trying to grab his camera in July 2013.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mr Ramos filed a lawsuit following the attack outside a terminal at Los Angeles International Airport and the case was scheduled to go to trial next week.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But Mr Ramos&#8217; lawyer Gloria Allred revealed the case had been settled and West had apologised to her client.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mr Ramos&#8217; lawsuit stated that he was attacked by West after he asked the rapper why he wouldn&#8217;t talk to photographers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ms Allred had said in her original statement on the case: &#8220;Daniel, who was standing about 10 feet away from Mr West, called out to him and said &#8216;Kanye, can we talk to you, Kanye?&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Daniel then said &#8216;What&#8217;s going on? Why can&#8217;t we talk to you? I mean why?&#8217;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Daniel asked Mr West that question because one week earlier on 12 July, 2013, Mr West had shouted at photographers &#8216;Don&#8217;t talk to me. I don&#8217;t want to hear paparazzi talk to me or anybody I know&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;After hearing Daniel ask (his question), Mr West stopped walking, put his bag down&#8230; and turned.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Then without warning or provocation, Mr West suddenly attacked Daniel, punching him and attempting to wrestle Daniel&#8217;s camera from his hands.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In her latest statement, Ms Allred said: &#8220;Celebrities are not above the law, and they have no right to physically attack someone simply because they were asked a question.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">West&#8217;s lawyer Shawn Holley did not immediately return phone or email messages requesting a comment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ms Allred wrote that other details of the settlement will not be released, but said the apology was a major component.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prosecutors declined to file felony charges against West, but Los Angeles prosecutors decided to pursue misdemeanour charges.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">West, 37, was told he must serve two years on probation and 250 hours of community service after pleading no contest last year to misdemeanour battery.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He was also told to attend 24 anger management sessions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">West became one of the world&#8217;s most photographed men after he married reality star Kim Kardashian.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Source: Sky news<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kanye West has reached an out-of-court settlement with a cameraman he is alleged to have punched.
