Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan is sure Brazil 2014 will be tough, and not about names.<\/span><\/p>\n

Group G, where Ghana are housed, will require a collective pull of effort and experience from the last two World Cups, according to the forward.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Portugal\u00a0has got a great team.\u00a0Germany, of course, is the favourite; that’s what people are saying. Statistically, they are the avourite in the group, but you might not know what is going to happen,” the Ghana FA website quotes the striker as saying.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Any country that qualifies for the World Cup is a good one. That is where it’s a bit tricky, so we have to just watch out.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Gyan has scored four goals in eight games – better than Portugal legend Cristiano Ronaldo’s two goals in ten matches – believes all teams in the group have to earn their rites of passage to the next round.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Yes, I see it like that (a Group of Death), but football doesn’t talk about names anymore. We’ve done it before;\u00a0Ghana\u00a0has done it before,” he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

“In 2006, we were in the same group with\u00a0Italy.\u00a0Italy\u00a0went through to win the Cup and we made it instead the\u00a0US, who were rated 4th in the world around that time and\u00a0Czech\u00a0Republic\u00a0was rated 5th in the world at that time and\u00a0Ghana\u00a0was the underdog. And we were able to deliver.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The same thing happened in 2010. We were the same underdog and we were able to deliver. So, it has happened before and I don’t feel any pressure at all.<\/span><\/p>\n

“We’ve got a lot of experience in the World Cup. We’re going to make sure we make every Ghanaian proud by playing our normal game and we’ll see what happens.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The World Cup begins in June.<\/span><\/p>\n
