community must collaborate with local industries &#8211; Ayariga"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Minister for Environment Science Technology &amp; Innovation, Mahama Ayariga has stated that Ghana will continue to record high deficits unless the nation\u2019s scientific community is mobilized to help with the creation of innovative products and services.<\/p>\n<p>This, he said will help in reducing the importation of goods as well as halt the depreciation of the cedi.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Ayariga made these remarks when he opened the Annual Technology Fair at the Ghana Telecommunication University at Tesano in Accra.<\/p>\n<p>He indicated that the President\u2019s call for the patronage of made in Ghana goods has \u201cimposed a huge burden on the scientific community to collaborate with the private sector and government to develop local substitutes for imported goods and services.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a assured the public that the his Ministry will soon present a programme for the approval of President \u00a0to ensure the diffusion of locally developed technologies and inventions into the production of local goods.<\/p>\n<p>This, he said \u201ccan replace many imported products and reduce the demand for foreign exchange for imports only if it is appreciated by the Ghanaian public as well packaged
