{"id":103896,"date":"2015-03-30T16:39:10","date_gmt":"2015-03-30T16:39:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=103896"},"modified":"2015-03-30T17:59:07","modified_gmt":"2015-03-30T17:59:07","slug":"update-7-arrested-over-stolen-vessels-in-prampram","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=103896","title":{"rendered":"UPDATE: 7 arrested over stolen vessels in Prampram"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ghana Navy has arrested 7 persons in Kpoi Ete a suburb of Prampram in the Greater Accra Region in connection with two vessels that were reported stolen and docked in the area.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;Ry450O5Vz2bdcAdUr2dSpM35HXtslwl2&#8243;]This arrest follows <strong>citifmonline.com\u2019s<\/strong> revelation on Monday that two suspicious vessels had docked at PramPram and were been dismantled into scraps for sale.<\/p>\n<p>The residents in an interview with citifmonline.com raised suspicions about the operations of the crew who usually worked at night.<\/p>\n<p>The vessels had been stationed in the area for two months.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of Operations at the Ghana Navy, Commander Raymond Kyaano said following the reports by citifmonline.com, his outfit followed up and arrested the crew and ceased both vessels.<\/p>\n<p>He said both the Navy and the owner were looking for the vessel; \u201cSo after hearing the news I dispatched some personal to the area and lo and behold when they got there they realised it was the missing vessel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/MG_0074.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-103800\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/MG_0074.jpg\" alt=\"_MG_0074\" width=\"675\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/MG_0074.jpg 675w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/MG_0074-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 675px) 100vw, 675px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first vessel MT Azumoh had been missing for some time now &#8211; the owner had come to the base to report the case to us,\u201d he confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>The arrested persons have been handed over to Police for further investigations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe arrested some of the workers about seven of them, and they were handed over to the Police, the arrest was done in conjunction with the Prampram Police. All the parties concerned are Ghanaians.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One of the residents who spoke to citifmonline.com before the arrest said \u201cI always see them come with a toll boat that comes from the port so I am sure some authorities at the port are involved. It is a matter of National Security because the port is right here. What is going on, don\u2019t we have laws anymore?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t know what they are bringing here.
