Traders at the Kejetia bus terminal have staged a demonstration against the mayor of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Kojo Bonsu.<\/p>\n

The traders are demanding that the reconstruction of the Central Market\u00a0at Kejetia\u00a0must not include the bus\u00a0terminal hence their protest.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0traders at the terminal have been asked to relocate to the Adehyeman market for phase one of the reconstruction to begin.<\/p>\n

The protest dubbed \u201cKwaterekwa\u201d demonstration is to draw government\u2019s attention to their plight.<\/p>\n

They held placards with inscriptions \u201cK\u037bnk\u037bnsa project paa nie,” “Some MPs’ in Kumasi should wise up,” \u201cKojo Bonsu must also go\u201d among others.<\/p>\n

The public relations officer (PRO) in an interview with Citi News<\/strong> questioned the rationale behind the project saying, \u201cI don\u2019t know why Kojo Bonsu is insisting that they will construct 10,000 shops in a bus terminal. Does he want to condemn the terminal?\u201d<\/p>\n

The protestors who began the exercise at Kejetia, went through some principals streets in Kumasi including Prampaso, Adum, the Police headquarters and will finally end at the KMA office to present their petition to the mayor.<\/p>\n

The traders had embarked on similar exercise<\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>over the issue.<\/p>\n

Some angry traders at the Kejetia market on March 10 stormed the office of the Kojo Bonsu<\/strong><\/a> <\/span>over plans to relocate them to the Adehyeman market for phase one of the Kumasi Central Market reconstruction to begin.<\/p>\n

The traders besieged the KMA office following an arranged meeting between leadership of the Ketetia Traders Association (KTA) and the Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive, Kojo Bonsu.<\/p>\n
