Osman Barry, one of three suspected armed robbers who shot and killed the officer in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba district, was picked up by police in Techiman.

[contextly_sidebar id=”SKWOEf2L1ALIIe4CFkeKpRLUrySizrGU”]The three had gone into hiding after the incident, but two of them were picked up by the police after a tip-off from a member of the public, resulting in the arrest of one of the men.

After questioning by the police, the suspect directed the police to the hideout of Barry in Techiman  where he was arrested.

The Public Relations Officer (PRO), of the Brong Ahafo Police Command ASP Christopher Tawiah, who confirmed the arrest to Citi News, stated that efforts are being made to find any other person involved in the shooting.

“He [Osman Barry] is a Burkinabe who had earlier shot a policeman and gone into hiding. An Eyewitness gave a tip-off to the police. They were chased and one of them was arrested. He directed the police to where the Burkinabe  was hiding and he was also arrested at Techiman.

“The offence was committed in the Northern Region so the police will investigate further to see whether the others involved will be arrested and maybe he’ll be pushed to the Northern Region to be processed,” he added.
