A man believed to be in his early 30s was allegedly lynched by some residents of Inchaban in the Shama District of the Western Region yesterday when they suspected him of being a thief.
According to the Daily Guide the man was stripped naked before he was beaten to death.

Some of the residents suspected that the man (whose identity was not known) was a thief who was attempting to break into a house to steal.
According to the residents, there used to be a community watchdog committee which patrolled the area at night, but it collapsed due to lack of motivation of the members.
They therefore, suggested the re-activation of the committee to arrest thieves who had targeted residents of the area in recent times.
The assembly member for the area, Francis Biney, indicated that he was informed of the news by some neighbours at about 6am and followed up to the scene.
He said he later notified the Inchaban police who conveyed the body to the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi, whilst investigation continued.
