The Ghana Water Company Limited has resumed full production of water in Tamale and surrounding communities.
The company cut down on its daily potable water output to enable pipe laying works to connect more districts to the distribution network.
The cut in production resulted in a crippling water shortage that affected economic activities in some parts of the Northern Region.

“Those who are staying at Dohin-naayili, Kukuo, Koblimahigu, Aboabo, Changli, Jakarayili, Zogbeli and Lamashegu are happy with what GWCL has done for them because today when they turned on their taps, portable water ran through; but for those who we had to drop a pump so that we could satisfy them may definitely have a problem but bottom-line is that, we have resumed full production,” he said.
The company is however hopeful that all the affected areas will be covered by the water distribution network by Tuesday.
