Ghana’s Black Queens hammered Tunisia 4-0 on Tuesday to complete a 6-1 aggregate score line to book a place at this year’s African Women’s Championship in Cameroon.
The team had won 2-1 in the first leg last week in Tunis and had to at least, avoid defeat in the return leg.
Samira Suleiman opened the scoring in the 26th minute with a header from a Portia Boakye corner kick. Boakye added the second six minutes later with a thunderous strike from 25 yards.
On the stroke of half time, Samira Suleiman was gifted with a loose ball from the Tunisian goalie but shot wide at the yawning net.
Samira came close again on the 69th minute but her shot missed the post by inches.
Priscilla Adobea made it three with a solo effort after she swiftly moved past the Tunisian right back, dribbled the center backs and dribbled the goalie with ten minutes left on the clock.
Samira added the fourth with a superb volley in the 89th minute.
The win means Ghana has qualified for the championship to be hosted in Cameroon later this year.
