I see no reason why the Scholarship Secretariat cannot adminter the FREE SHS funds. In other words, I see the Free SHS as a national scholarship programme that allows every qualified Ghanaian child of SHS going age to attend school for free. Hence, in my opinion, the Scholarship Secretariat is the best outfit to administer the fund because it falls directly under their jurisdiction. Although the Ministry of Education is responsible for the educational sector, in my humble opinion, Haruna Iddrisu (Minority leader) and his team must understand that this is a nationwide scholarship scheme and with the an already established Scholarship Secretariat, they must be allowed to administer the fund.
