Six persons have been confirmed dead, with eight others in critical condition after two vehicles they were travelling in collided at Hwidiem in the Asante Akim North District of the Ashanti Region.
According to the police, a Kia truck which was loaded with yam, lost control and veered off the road running into the Ford transit bus.

The accident occurred at about 8:30 pm on Monday, and Police has since towed both vehicles from the scene.
The dead included three men and three women.
Three of dead were students; one from the Presbyterian University College, and two from the Presbyterian Training College.
The bodies of the dead have been deposited at the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital morgue, whilst those in critical condition have also been admitted in the same hospital.
So far, none of the victims has been identified by family members.
