The Old Achimotans Association 2001 year group, has donated its ‘widow’s mite’ to the ‘Citi Opportunity Project on Education (COPE)’ initiative.
The group, led by its President, Kwadwo Ofori Jnr, donated a cash amount of GHc 3,000 to the social initiative that seeks to provide full scholarships to brilliant but deprived students to further their education.
This 2001 year group began engaging in charity initiatives five years ago, and most recently offered some support to the Christian Faith Orphanage at Frafraha, as part of its ‘The Smile Project.’
Citi FM recently launched a fundraising drive for the COPE, seeking to raise GHc250,000 from listeners to support 50 beneficiaries.
The average amount spent on each beneficiary is roughly GH¢5,000, and this covers tuition, accommodation, stationery and a stipend.
