The Municipal Chief Executive for Akuapem North Assembly, Dennis Edward Aboagye has paid a courtesy call on the Benkum Division of the Akuapem Traditional Council which is headed by the Benkumhene, Nana Asiedu Okoo Ababio.
This is the first time Mr. Aboagye has visited the council since his assumption of office as the Municipal Chief Executive of the area some four months ago.
The visit according to the MCE was to enable him officially introduce himself to the council as well as share with them his vision for the area.
Speaking at the meeting held some few days ago, Mr. called for support from the traditional authorities and the entire citizenry of the municipality to enable him achieve his vision as well as bring development to Okuapeman.
Mr. Aboagye further appealed to the traditional council to release lands for the implementation of government’s laudable policies such as: Planting for Food and Jobs, One District, One district one factory policy which he said will attract investors and also create jobs for the indigenes in the municipality.
He also made a passionate appeal to the council to play active roles in dealing with refuse collection and management in the municipality since “cleanliness is next to Godliness.’’
On property rates, tax and tolls which are some of the significant means of raking in income for the assembly to undertake projects, he called on the citizenry to endeavor to honour their tax obligations to the assembly.
The Benkumhene Nana Asiedu Okoo Ababio, welcomed the MCE’s plan for the area and added that “If you succeed, you succeed for all Okuapeman.”
Nana Ababio told the MCE that he has their supports and blessings to further develop the municipality to an appreciable level.
