The management of Unique Insurance Company Limited last Monday made a donation of GHc5,000 to the Service in support of the late Lance Corporal Robert Kumi Ackah’s family.
The late Lance Corporal Kumi Ackah of the Tamale Rapid Deployment Force, met his untimely death at Dawadawa on the Buipe-Kintampo strech of the highway when he was escorting an OA passenger bus to the Northern Region on Sunday.
Presenting the cheque, the Managing Director Mr. Victor Obeng-Adiyiah expressed the company’s condolence to the bereaved family and pledge the company’s support to the work of the Police.
The Inspector General of the Police Mr. David Asante-Apeatu expressed appreciation of the service to the company.
He also encouraged others to emulate this great example of support to the Police, that the Police do not have a foundation to deal with the financial needs of such unfortunate incidents which unfortunately are the hazards of the profession.
Supporting the IGP to receive the donation were COP/Mr. Oppong-Boanuh; Director-General/ADMN., COP/Mr. Ransford Ninson; Director-General/Welfare and ACP/Mr. Patrick Akoglo; Director-General finance.
