Make teaching attractive  – Wintrust CEO to teacher trainees

The Chief Executive Officer of Wintrust group of companies, Mr. Amla Godwin has admonished teacher trainees to make the teaching profession interesting and attractive to all stakeholders.

Mr. Amla Godwin who was the guest of honor at SRC week celebration of Jasikan College of Education asked teacher trainees to come together and form a think-tank that will advocate and also research into policies that can be implemented by the government.

Mr. Amla Godwin who is a past student of the college, said teaching is a noble profession.

He therefore admonished the teacher trainees to be innovative and use technology to their advantage.

“Research and development is one of the keys to organizational development. It is therefore important for it to be introduced into their curriculum and profession to help develop new and improved ways of teaching that will help them to be globally competitive,” he said.

Mr. Amla asked the trainees to invest in their personal development to help them make  informed choices in a fast growing age of technology.

Negotiate with teacher trainees on payment of allowances

He also admonished the government to negotiate with teacher and nursing trainees on the payment of allowances.

Speaking as the guest of honor at the SRC week celebration of Jasikan College of Education, the young CEO and past student, thanked and congratulated the President for taking a bold step to restore the allowances.

This he believes will reduce the burden on studenst, parents and tutors as well.
