Wopɛ a, wobɛtumi abisa wɔn baanu nyinaa. Akyire.

When I did my job interview for a university position, it was Twi that we spoke. Professor Cephas Omenyo first asked me if I spoke Twi. I told him I did. Then he asked me if he could ask me questions in Twi. I said yes. Then we spoke for about 30 minutes or so using Twi exclusively. They were amazed that someone who was born overseas could do this. Professor Akosua Adomako Ampofo who was the Director of the Institute of African Studies was also present. If you like you can ask both of them about it. Later.

My question to them is Ghana’s international language is English, but which schools did they attend that had a language lab but they communicate with the language? Why not their local or African languages. To the so called African studies lecturer, in what language did you use to acquire a job in Ghana which is an English speaking country?? What if you had the opportunity for a better job in a francophone country???
