Five persons in the Upper East Region have submitted completed forms to the Electoral Commission (EC) to contest in the upcoming council of state election scheduled for February 16.
The five are; Tongo-Rana Kubilsong Nalebegtan (Robert Nachinab D. Mosore), Dr. Jacob Kofi Ayeebo, Mr. Joseph, Appiah Moses Abaare, Philip Babachuweh and Francis Apam.

He is a Mechanical Engineer by profession and holds a Masters of Arts Degree in Environmental Management and Policy from the University of Cape Coast. He is also a former Member of Parliament for the Talensi Constituency and currently the paramount chief of the Talensi traditional area.
Dr. Jacob Ayeebo age 55 hails from Yelwoko in the Bawku central area. He is the current Member of the Council of state representing the Upper East Region until Thursday’s election decides otherwise.
He is a minister of Religion (Missiologist) and holds a PhD in Missiology from the North West University of South Africa.
Mr. Appiah Abaare is 60 and hails from Binaba in the Bawku West area. He is an Agriculturalist and holds a Masters of Art Degree in public administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
Mr. Francis Apam is a Mechanical engineer by profession and holds a GCE O level from Antoa Secondary. He is 70 years and hails from Pusiga.
Mr. Philip Babachuweh hails from Paga-Kajelo in the Kassena-Nankana area, a building contractor by profession and holds a GCE O level from Ghana College Tamale. He is 74 years old.
