Persons who applied to to cast their ballot in the early voting exercise but could not cast their ballots on Thursday December 2, will be given another opportunity to do so on Sunday, December 4.

This decision was agreed upon at an emergency Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting held on Wednesday evening.

Citi News gathered that, several of the voters including security officials who were to cast their ballots on Wednesday, could not do so because they could not find their names in the list of registered voters in their constituencies.

Following strings of similar complaints across the country, the EC has decided, in consultation with various stakeholders including the political parties, to hold the exercise for those affected on December 4, ahead of the general elections on 7th December.

‘Voters angry over missing names’

Some persons who were registered as early voters expressed their frustration over their inability to find their names in the list of early voters on Wednesday.

Citi News gathered that some Police personnel including commanders and other top hierarchy personnel within the security agencies, could not cast their ballot because their names were ‘missing’ from the special voters’ list.
