This initial good performance of ADB’s shares on the GSE though, is NOT because of investor confidence. This trend has, since the inception of the GSE, been the norm for almost all IPOs. And ADB’s is no exception. More so, counting on “numbers” as far as the bank’s financial report is concerned, this WOULDN’T lead to this initial good showing, on the GSE.

This has been the trend of the Ghanaian investor for any listed company on the GSE.

Let me, also, state that the Ghanaian investor’s attitude towards listed companies’ trading, on the GSE, DOES NOT correlate to companies’ performances, for most of the times. It has been more of speculation, and the attitude of accruing more dividends, at any specific time.

The Ghanaian investor attitude departs from the norm generally, and COMPLETELY different from what pertains in any advanced Bourse or Stock trading platforms.
