“The University as a pace setter for Distance Education in Ghana, is the first University to mount its Distance Education Course Materials as DE Application on google play-store for easy access by its distance students. The Application is user friendly with unique features such as video conferencing, fora, chats, assignments, among others, and will make tutorial materials accessible as well as enhance student’s learning,” he stated.

The Vice Chancellor added that the university has sponsored over 47 senior lecturers on scholarship for PhD programmes.

The chancellor of the University of Education Winneba, Alhaji Asuma Banda appealed to the government of Ghana to prioritize job opportunities for graduates.

According to him, allowing students to work while schooling would help them gain experience in the job market before graduation.

This he said would curb the teeming graduate unemployment in the country.

Reading the valedictory speech, the 2016 overall best graduating student, Yaya Kweku Antwi appealed to the government to lift the employment embargo on public sector in order to employ the thousands of graduates.
