Citi Breakfast Show honoured at Ghana Mining Awards

The Citi Breakfast Show has been honoured at the second edition of the Ghana Mining Industry Awards.

The awards, organized by the Ghana Chamber of Mines saw the award winning Citi Breakfast Show beat other media organizations to grab the recognition.

The citation said the show was honoured “for vigorously promoting environmentally responsible mining in Ghana through objective and analytical reportage.”

It further read: “Your relentless campaign against the upsurge of illegal mining and its consequent destruction of major water bodies in Ghana is admirable and worth emulating.”

The 2nd mining industry award also saw key mining organizations such as Newmont, Adamus Resources, Golden Star resources, Asanco gold among others won awards in various categories.

The Citi Breakfast Show has for the past months been campaigning vigorously against the surge in galamsey and illegal mining activities in the country; a move that has triggered a wide discussion and had drawn attention of stakeholders to the menace.

The Citi Breakfast Show has been honoured by several institutions for its unrivaled discussions on issues bothering on the development of the country.

The show has also won the prestigious Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) award twice in the last three years.
