Personnel of the Police Service who may wish to further to their education will have to wait at least a year as the Ghana Police has suspended study leaves for the 2016/2017 academic year.
A communique sighted by Citi News noted that disciplinary action will be taken against any commander that forwards any study leave request to the police headquarters.
The communique, signed by Commissioner of Police, Ransford Moses Ninson, noted that the order was coming from the Inspector General of Police, John Kudalor.
No explanation was however given for the issuance of this new directive.
This directive follows another change in the police operations as the Ghana Police Command also ordered the suspension of all vehicle checks on roads in the country.
According to a memo seen by Citi News on Tuesday, personnel are to cease the inspection of driver’s licenses and vehicle documents.
