The National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Nabdam Constituency, Dr. Mark Kurt Nawaane, has urged residents of the area to vote massively for President John Mahama and himself in the upcoming general election.

According to him, the constituency which has witnessed major developments under the Mahama-led administration will benefit from more projects if the NDC is given another term in office.

He also urged the constituents to reject the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo and  the incumbent NPP MP, Boniface Gambil in the elections.

“Do you want the Elephant to remain here? If you don’t want the elephant to stay here then on that day when you are voting remember your children’s school fees, remember we built a district hospital, remember that we have dug boreholes and you know that, the only government that brings development. I have constructed two boreholes, supported 300 students to pay their school fees, constructed the Yakote bridge which was abandoned for several years and will do more when elected into office as MP,” Dr. Nawaane made the comment while launching his campaign at Pelungu.

“On December 7th, vote Mahama ‘ZU’, Nawaane ‘ZA’, Mahama ‘ZU’, Nawaane ‘ZA’ but this year’s election we don’t want skirt and blouse voting, we want up and down,” he added.

Former Member of Parliament and Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority, Moses Asaga donated 12 motorbikes and 2,000 John Mahama branded T-shirts to support the campaign activities of Dr. Nawaane.

On his part, National Deputy  Organizer of the NDC, Joshua Akamba in his address, called on the electorates to reject the NPP and Nana Addo come December 7, adding that,  four years is not enough for President Mahama to complete his vision for Ghana.

“This country cannot afford to go back.”

Mr. Akamba called for peace and unity among the rank and file of the party and urged all NDC supporters to campaign  for victory for Dr. Nawaane and President John Mahama.

The Nabdam constituency had since 1992 been occupied by Moses Asaga of the NDC until he lost the seat to Boniface Gambil of the NPP in 2012.
