The incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for the Tatale/Sanguli constituency in the Northern Region, Hon. James Cecil Yanwube has declared his intention to contest the 2016 elections as an independent candidate.
His declaration followed a mammoth road show in Tatale Township on Wednesday organized by some NPP constituency executives and a group called Friends of Yanwube who admonished the MP to contest the Parliamentary election as an independent candidate.
[contextly_sidebar id=”UpsjIrJU62FZu1VjzyV1QsH5WfxR74vp”]They argued that the NPP has no future in the constituency with Thomas Nbomba who defeated Hon. Cecil Yanwube at the Parliamentary primary.
Hon. Yawunbe exclusively told Citi News he will comply with his constituents directive on condition that they will vote for him and the NPP Presidential hopeful, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo at the 2016 polls.
He described Nana Akufo Addo as his political god father whose exemplary leadership enticed him to join the NPP fraternity.
Hon. Yanwube believed Nana Akufo Addo is the best person to salvage Ghana from what he described as the nation’s economic despair and urged the electorate to give him the mandate to govern.
Hon. James Cecil Yanwube is the first MP for the Tatale/Sanguli constituency which was carved out of the Zabzugu/Tatale constituency ahead of the 2012 general elections.
