Newly appointed Director of Communications at the Bank of Ghana (BoG) Mr Bernard Otabil today [Monday] August 1st, 2016, paid a courtesy call on Citi FM.
Mr Bernard Otabil’s visit was to formally introduce himself as the new Director of Communications of the central bank and also reinforce the BoG’s long standing relationship with Citi FM.
He was accompanied by a member of the bank’s communications department.
Mr Bernard Otabil who interacted with the MD of Citi FM, Mr. Samuel Attah-Mensah and other members of the Citi FM team said the bank was keen in ensuring that it disseminates the right information to the general public in all matters related to the banking and financial industry.
In his interaction, the MD of Citi FM, Mr. Samuel Attah-Mensah pledged the radio station’s support for the bank and emphasized the need for the regulator to be forthcoming with the needed information for public dissemination on issues related to the sector.
The two entities also discussed other issues including the current microfinance industry debacle, rising Non Performing Loans on the books of banks and other issues related to the banking and financial industry.
Mr Bernard Otabil is the first person to have been appointed to the position of Director of Communications following its creation recently.
Prior to his appointment as the Director of Communications at the BoG, Bernard Otabil was the General Manager of the Ghana News Agency, where had been at the helm of affairs for three-and-a-half years.
